This is my third posting. I’ll tell you about my English 2 class. It was my third English class. Dr. Marsigit had a test for the students. Suddenly Dr. Marsigit said, “Prepare some papers.” Then, Dr Marsigit gave some words in Indonesia Language. The student should translate those words in English. Those words are all about mathematics. For example, obtuse angle, rhombus, intersection point, etc. Dr. Marsigit just want to know about our mathematics in English. But my result is not good. I'm so sad.
Then, Dr. Marsigit said to learn english, we should get information or reference from everywhere and everything. Not only in class, but also in internet, or CD. We should read a mathematics english book to improve our English in mathematics.

What do you think about mathematics? What is the real mathematics?

School mathematics and university mathematics are different. At school, we study a pure math, but at university we not only study a pure mathematics but also applied mathematics.

There are many definition of Mathematics. Mathematic is a science and truth. Mathematic is the body of knowledge. And mathematic just lies in mind. Mathematics do not need a concrete things because the mathematics objects are abstract.

There are two ways to get the mathematics objects, there are:

1. Use a technical abstraction ---> not a shape

For the example: if we think about 5 (five), there are many characteristic in five. But in mathematics, we think about the value of "five".

2. Use a technical idealism ---> assumptions

Prof. C. Stacy from Melbourne University said there are two step in mathematics, they are:

1. Conjure ---> to think and to predict.

2. Convince ---> to communicate the result to the other people.

Prof. Katagiri from Japan said there are three aspects in mathematics, they are:

1. Mathematical Thinking

2. Idealization

3. Analogy

There are two mathematics process in Realistic Mathematics, they are:

1. Mathematics Horizontal ---> process from the real life to the mathematics symbol.

2. Mathematics Vertical ---> systems of the mathematics.

It was my first English 2 class. My lecturer, Mr. Marsigit introduced about him self first. And then, he told the students to make a formal blog. So, now I make a formal blog. This is my first blog. Mr. Marsigit will take a point for the posting.

Last, Mr. Marsigit told about some precondition to work in English 2. First is motivation. Motivation is the important thing to do something. Motivation are our higt spirit, enjoy, and happiness. But the highest motivation is praying. The second is Attitude or behavior. Then, Understanding knowledge and Skill. And the last is Experience. To Learning English, we should write, read, hear, and speak English.

Those five precondition to work in English.
